ABOUT ARCHIVE

The Archive dates its origin back to 2003 when Father Aloysius Orszulik, first Bishop of Lowicki Diocese, began the reconstruction and modernization of all the Diocese buildings.

Today, the Archive collects books mainly from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The most valuable of the collection are two books from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, one from St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Łęczyca and the other one from St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Inowłódz.

The collection also includes the nineteenth century civil and church regulations, as well as other materials documenting the activities of the various parishes of the Diocese Łowicka.

On 24 January, 2005. Andrzej F. Dziuba, Bishop Diocese Łowicz officially opened the Archive. According to its statute, the main purpose of the Archive is to collect, conduct scientific research and provide access to all documentation related to the activities of the administrative structures of the Church of Łowicz.
